High-performing V-Twin Kawasaki Teryx Side-x-Side combines ATV traits with Kayaba suspension for amazing versatility

2008 Kawasaki Teryx

Kawasaki’s Teryx RUV (Recreational Utility Vehicle) has exterior dimensions that fall between most mid- and full-size UTVs and is priced lower than both the Rhino and RZR (quite an achievement, considering what you’re getting). The exterior is a fusion of Prowler, Rhino and RZR themes. Other than the V-Twin, the Teryx breaks no new technological ground for Side-x-Side’s, but Kawasaki also got very little wrong with it. The hood looks eerily similar to the Rhino, but the body design is clean and well-proportioned without any notable missteps.

We have two Honda three-wheelers that we grew up on, both of which are old enough to buy a drink anywhere and one of which has now reached the quarter-century mark.

Cub Cadet Volunteer Frame Design

2008 Cub Cadet Volunteer Frame

The birth of the Cub Cadet Volunteer frame began with an initial conceptual sketch and progressed as vehicle specifications were developed.  Suspension design, wheel size, payload, vehicle stability, and drive train variations all played an important role in the layout of the frame.  The design and manufacturing of the Volunteer frame was 100% unique, with few parts utilized from previous designs.  Starting with a clean slate gave us a great deal of latitude in the design and manufacturing of the vehicle.  (Design tools such as solid modeling and FEA were used to fine tu

Cub Cadet Volunteer 4x4 - Better than ever, and ready for action

748cc V-Twin EFI Mossy Oak Treestand Camo w/Tracker Edition Decals

2008 Cub Cadet Volunteer 4x4

Though it looks like a regular UTV, Cub Cadet’s new Volunteer is a well-thought-out, remarkably functional blend of work UTV and  comfortable backwoods hauler. Though up against a slew of competitors in the full-size UTV segment, the Volunteer is something the other OEMs should keep an eye on. With the discontinued Big Country model—which never really posed a threat--Cub Cadet now has something that not only competes with the big boys but beats them head-on in most areas.

Wider, upgraded tow-behind grader lets homeowners restore unpaved driveways

One of the DR’s best abilities is to “recycle” the existing driveway material into a smooth level surface.

If you have a dirt driveway in rough condition, you’ve no doubt experienced the jolting impact on your car's and/or truck's shocks and steering that the vibration from washboarding can cause, and the pounding your entire vehicle takes when your driveway isn’t properly maintained. The folks at DR Power promise to make your bumpy, pothole-filled driveway or parking area a thing of the past. They threw out all the old notions about grading when they designed their 60" Power Grader.
